Getting Started

Step-by-step guide to creating your first webhook endpoint and receiving your first request.

01

Create an Endpoint

To start using the Webhook Tester:

  1. Navigate to Webhook Tester in the sidebar.
  2. Click the "Neu" (New) button to create a new endpoint.
  3. Your unique webhook URL will appear at the top: https://provider.tools/webhooks/a3f8b2c1d9
  4. Copy the URL and use it wherever you need to receive webhooks.

URL Format

Each endpoint gets a short, unique 10-character token:

https://provider.tools/webhooks/{token}
Example: https://provider.tools/webhooks/a3f8b2c1d9

This URL accepts all HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, PATCH, HEAD, OPTIONS).

02

Send Your First Request

Test your new endpoint with a simple curl command:

# Simple GET request
curl https://provider.tools/webhooks/a3f8b2c1d9

# POST with JSON body
curl -X POST https://provider.tools/webhooks/a3f8b2c1d9 \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"event": "test", "data": {"message": "Hello Webhook!"}}'

# POST with form data
curl -X POST https://provider.tools/webhooks/a3f8b2c1d9 \
  -d "name=John&email=john@example.com"

# With custom headers
curl -X POST https://provider.tools/webhooks/a3f8b2c1d9 \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer token123" \
  -H "X-Custom-Header: my-value" \
  -d '{"test": true}'

The request will immediately appear in the left panel of the Webhook Tester interface. Click on it to see the full details.

03

Live Mode & Polling

The Webhook Tester automatically polls for new requests every 2 seconds. You'll see a green "Live" indicator when polling is active.

Controls

  • Pause/Resume: Toggle the play/pause button to control polling.
  • Clear All: Delete all captured requests with the trash icon.
  • Refresh: Manually reload the request list.

New requests appear at the top of the list and are highlighted briefly.
